been away for the past hour or so, good to see De Gendt still in second (for the time being), also good ride by Sagan, didn't expect that effort from him, but poor time by TJVG started well it seems but then nothing?

Think the middle section gets the worst of the wind and it's increased since the early starters. Doesn't explain the size of TJVG loss though.

In any case, I think today demonstrates that his problem this tour is not, as some have suggested, just that he's not a great climber. The guy is just plain off. He SHOULD be much better than this.

I dunno, maybe the crashes bothered him some too.
