They were, but Belkin clearly increased the pace alot after Valverdes' puncture

Im not sure what all the hate for Belkin comes from.They were riding hard before piti's mechanical,they animating a sprint stage ffs.This thread already double the posts of a usual sprint stage that should tell you something.

Why? Only ones riding are their flat guys. And Gesink. Ten Dam has only ridden in the beginning. Mollema has done 0 work

'Later on' was the key word there - they don't get they hurt their own chnces to podium with Mollema by doing this. DUMB strategy (if any).

Say what you want but this is great racing. Riders all over the place. Many more could get dropped from the peloton. Amazing stage.

I don't know about "amazing", but certainly entertaining and memorable.

This sucks. I hate to see this kind of thing. It would be one thing if Valverde lost time just due to echelons but I hate to see GC determined by flats and mechanicals.
