can someone explain why froome didn't follow the saxo break.

he was right behind cav, when cav was struggling to bridge the gap to the front group

Lol, Mollema saying Valverde has been unsportsmanlike in the last few years as well (obviously hinting at clinic), so he doesn't care about anything.

I have to say that was the best reaction in pro cycling for a long time.

Mollema just dissed Piti in his post race interview, lovely :D

Mollema's comment "we only heard Valverde was behind, we only heard later it was something with his bike. But Valverde shouldn't complain about unfairness. He's been unfair in the past"

LOVE IT! :D

I have had my eyes on Mollema for quite some time but this was the final nail in the coffin! A new favorite! :)

Cav said in his interview that he only got across because Kwiatowski pulled for him, then he had to flat out sprint to bridge. Don't really see Froome doing that.

He didn't know what to do, so decided to play conservative and call DS. Probably a case of quicker physical improvement than experience accumulation.

As Armstrong would say, he has a lot to learn.

He tried to but he couldn't. He then got on the radio probably asking for some help.

Isolated with the full saxo team and both Belkin? wrong decision, but understandable. Maybe assumed they'dd pull them back.

interesting dilemna for Froome - was losing a minute to Belkin/saxo worth it to totally elliminate Valverde?

Managed what? Froome got a free ride from BMC, Katusha and AG2R. Sky didn't do sh*t.

I'm not saying they did. I'm saying Froome didn't panic and go alien.

Most of Saxo was going up the road including one or more GC threats. I don't know if I'd panic, but boy I'd think hard about turning on the afterburners to close that gap. I wonder what the chatter was on Sky's radios.

Changing subjects, this is a good example of how a two-way radio helped cool the race action off.

Well... he's still 2.30 in front. That still counts as a massive gap.

But the moment where he had to let go of the front group was hilarious. 'Froomebot calling all stations!'

He'd be the one I'd expect more than any other. Remember the rain cape?

Someone destroyed his back wheel apparently, he is not to blame, just victim of circumstances. Not that I mind, time to unleash Quintana.

Comunque complimenti a chi ha avuto il coraggio di attaccare e chi non si è fatto sorprendere!! Congrats @jakob_fuglsang

Nibali doesn't like Sky, we knew that :)

Poor decision making. Decided to wait for his team.

he probably was on the limit. *but didn't admit on the interview*. Snippet from stannard, he saw the move, but froome late to react so he left the gap. Game over i guess.

Valverde had already given up when Saxo put the pedal down. Froome just couldn't follow without going into the red, so he consulted the team.

He tried but didn't have the legs today

Cavendish basically did a sprint to get across

Cav and Sagan - Whilst they didn't work for the lead grp (Obv) well it was lucky for Contador that Cav made that bridge or OPQS would have worked against them and that team has the biggest engines.

"However congratulations to those who had the courage to attack and those who were not caught surprised!!"

Just translating for who doesn't speak Italian.

Considering he was chasing down Quintana attacks on Sunday it makes no sense to let the entire Saxo team go up the road.

Rocket science, not.

I know, as long as he keeps his comparative form advantage it will still be a walk in the park. But, this stage is more important mentally, it will also be a stage remembered when talking about Froome in years to come.
