Feel bad for Albasini, he really deserved that one. Super strong and did everything right, except maybe a bit too eager reacting on attacks in the finale.

Trentin cool but very lucky.

Trentin was picked by OPQS as the next best sprinter for them, currently under training. can't call it lucky. the best sprinter among the break won.

With regards to Albasini, i felt very bad especially after looking at his reaction. He must have been totally gutted.

Haha, why didn't BMC and Katusha ride to protect their riders today? One team definitely has the biggest squad in Tour De France history

Because Fuglsang, Ten Dam, Mollema, Contador and Kreuziger TOGETHER > Talansky? Just a thought.

What a boring weekend stage. Was hoping Simon would win at least. Huge gift for Talansky in the white jersey comp. Doubt it will matter though.

I'll let you figure that one out yourself. I believe in you.

Yes you can. He got an armchair ride from non-teammates until 200m from the finish. But he still pulled it off of course, so well done on his part.

Psychologically, Froome won today. He will forget about his nasty day yesterday. All his domestiques had a training day. Tomorrow, all his teamamtes are going to be prepared to ride for him

Not exaclty an armchair ride. He was also contributing to neutralize attacks. Only in the final km or 2, he had a "armchair ride". Tactically, if the stage doesn't end in a sprint he doesn't have a chance to win. I will say good racing brains, not a wheelsucker.

Yeah and that's where he got lucky. I doubt anyone would have bet a penny on someone from the chasing group still winning the thing with 1k to go.

Yea, riding hard to save a top 15 spot in the GC makes a lot of sense. I doubt whether you figured it out.

you mean to ask will someone bet that simon wont be caught? he had attacked too early and there was a certain Bakelaants who mauled down the gap.

Radioshack and BMC worked hard for others to win today.

A very good move by Talansky. He will end up almost 45s ahead of BMC's Evans.

Shame on BMC to not speed things up to protect their team leader's position, while they rode to help Froome yest.
Can someone explain BMC tactics today?

If the team was selected to be 100% for Cadel, how did he manage to drop down the GC positions today?

Why was Gilbert not in the break today? It seems such a waste to see him day after day just sat in the peloton in WC jersey.

Is someone know what happen to Hesjedal today? He finished 9'57'' of the winner of the stage while the peloton finished at 7'17''.

Probably still dealing with his injuries. He's been finishing at the back of the pack and minutes behind the winner often.

Plus his form and shape is pretty much crap at the moment.

Cadel dropped in GC because Talansky was in the break and gained a nice chunk of time.

To the bolded: That seemed rather strange to me as well. I figured one of the reasons Gilbert wanted to do the Tour in the first place was to get a first win. I thought before this stage he would likely be one of the main guys looking to get in the break, maybe he was just in the wrong place when the break went.

Heard Hitch being mentioned just as I switched on! to do with clarifying Cunego's drug's record?

Negatives today. Cannondale - ok, it's a big French 100th tour, but try not to be so Italian about it and put some work in. Never nice seeing a Frenchie getting caught around Bastille Day. Particularly as Trentin seemed to wheelsucking more than most?

Overall another fantastic stage. Bravo to the Lyonnaise!

Evans is 6:54 down and seemed 6:54 down the stage before? Anyone can stand to lose a minute+ before Ventoux. The carnage will be as bad, if not worse than last Saturday.

Gilbert's situation may include the curse of the WC stripes. The guy riding around with the WC stripes is heavily marked among 100 other possible reasons why he wasn't there in the lead group today.
