Hesjedal came in even behind the bunch at yesterdays pace. Any chance he is saving something for today? 150/1 for the stage could be tempting.

Not a chance. He's cracked a rib, and is just surviving.

First few days, it hurts plenty and you're taking short breaths. A week later, it hurts a lot more, and every now and then, you feel like you're not taking in enough air to breathe at all.

I hear alot about extreme heat in the finish on Ventoux..

What can this mean for the race? and whome may benefit from the heat?

Both Froome an Quintana are born below the equator so will they benefit the most?
Quintana was not born below the equator.

And he was born 2500m above sea level so won't be used to "extreme heat".

Doesn't mean it won't benefit him, just that his place of birth is not a reason for that.

any news abt Voeckler today? i have voted for him to win

Sagan (CAN), Irizar, (RTL), Fedrigo and Roy (FDJ), Riblon (ALM), Losada (KAT), Chavanel (OPQ), Impey (OGE), Poels (VCD), El Fares (SOJ) are in the lead by 35''.

, but peloton chasing hard.

dont understand why he might have trouble. the temperature related issues should get sorted out within a week.

Quintana will fly today. Talansky is way too close for comfort, and keaitowsky is only a feew sec in front. he would need to put in time today to allow for loses in the ITT

i am a voeckler fan. cant understand why he is not in break today.

sagan on break is very bad for green point jersey. only way he can lose now is by crashing out like hoogerland

... and not that there's real heat anyway today, 32°C on the foot of the climb, 19°C at the top

These are temperatures in the shades. Add 6 to 10°C for the temperature in plain sun.
So expect 25-26°C during the last part of the Ventoux as there's NO shades.

you keep saying that but fact is riders in colombia from whereveer they are all benefit from extreme heat. soler was born 3300 metres. he needed extreme heat to perform at his best and couldn't stand the cold or rain

Quintana should do well on this stage. But I guess this is also the stage where one of the Belkin riders should attack to see if they can make up time on Froome.

Pinot will take this one. They keep saying he's in great form and today he won't have to worry about descending. And after Ax3 he's been taking it easy, saving energy so he could save his Tour by taking a stage. Today's his best chance for that, barring he gets his head together.

He'll go early on the climb so he'll have a good lead before Froome decides to go. Then the crowd will cheer for him and give him yellow jersey-like powers and he'll hang on for the victory.

I thought it was *** when someone said sagan is gonna win this.

But now, maybe :D

Sagan no doubt has his eyes on the Sprint points just before the climb starts.

I hope sagan doesn't win this though, otherwise we're gonna get the "sagan for GC" talk again.

Look what happened with Martin

What happend? He became world's best TTer. Pretty good going..

Sagan shouldn't win this. It's going be between Rolland and Poels I hope. Losada as a big dark horse.

Anyway, Sagan said himself if he wins lots of classics in future and dominates the field, he might change to a GC man iirc or something to that extent.
