Praying for dangerous conditions seems a little sad to be honest.

RAI commentators say that in case of rain tomorrow the Sarenne descent will be cancelled and the stage will end on the first Alpe climb.

Hope they're trolling.

It sounds likely. Reports from people out there are the descent is scary in the dry at amateur speeds. It's a shame but seems like it could be sensible.

ASO has a duty of care to all riders in the race, if the descent is cancelled because it is dangerous it has nothing to do with any individual rider.

If Sarenne will be cancelled, Pecheux has to go. Same thing like Crostis and Zomegnan.

I agree.

The giro with the possibility of snow drifts is well, they got unlucky. But hey having to cancel something due to rain means it was a **** poor idea to include it in the first place.

Yep, could have used the Galibier, or Croix de Fer, but they took a risk that was pointless anyway (who cares about 2x the Alpe?)

if they'd taken glaibier or croix de fer the same thing would've happened with bad weather. they'd get canceled too

this is way worse than Zomegnan. Crostis descent was perfectly raceable. If they cancel Sarenne is like saying they don't even think it's fine themselves.
