At least there's no risk of the forum crashing today.

Maybe we will see another Froome vs Quintana showdown and Dawg riding away,so everything is possible:eek:

Edit:On Fry of course

Please let the peloton fail

The guys who turned to race today:

Rolland
Hesjedal
Navarro
Nieve

Dont worry the peleton wont catch them. Its all about the size of the gap

Was there a scenario that could have seen the GC change for yellow today? The only way would be to go on Glandon or descent. But hitting for home from that distance is impossible?, right. I'm surprised one GC rider didn't try. Quintana has nothing in the tank? It would've took the race apart imo

too far out. Quintana won't risk his white jersey and sure podium, for crazy long attack that 99% has a chance of fail

He moved into the break. Very smart tactically.

Very smart because...? What did he achieve or what do you think he will achieve? Tony Martin made the race as much as Nieve today, which is none.

The scenario: Froome get isolated after the pace is driven up by Saxo, Movistar and others. He then bonks hard at the start of the last climb. He's isolated with no teammates who are 5-6 minutes behind him. He struggles up the climb and a teammate catchs up and helps pull him up to the top. He loses 5:30 to both Contador and Quintana who battled it out up the hill.

Odds if that happening? Zero. Would I like it to? Heck yes.

Is the last climb the one Evans attacked on last year the stage that finished on Toussuire

What did exactly Nieve do so far?

Try and go for a stage win as well as the KOM jersey and in the process maybe move himself up into the top 10 on GC. He could have gone with Rolland and Hesjedal but it was smarter for them to burn themselves out and he utilises his 3 team-mates to bring them back. I still expect Nieve to win this stage. He's the favourite IMO.

He didnt try taking the points

So? They will come if he plays it patiently! He still picked up decent points along the way, and will most likely pick up the maximum points over the last 2 climbs or at very least the last one.

He has done hardly any work and he's the best climber in this break. Stage win is coming up for him as well as points for him to assess whether or not its worth going for it tomorrow.

for the GC today i think its the question is whether Quintana is going to attack AC

That'll happen, not sure Alberto has anything to give today. But with him you never know. I think Froome will finish ahead of both today to make a point.

Yes, but not many can reach the top 10 range.

Thats what smart riders do.

Let the team classification idiots provide an armchair ride.

But they can win a stage. Equally smart. Shack put 3 guys out there for the team gc, also smart. AG2R tried the same.
