Probably not, may be the difference between 5th and 6th against say a Van den Broeck; or Pinot who they would have expected to take more time out of. Hopefully it encourages them to be more adventurous.

If Evans and VG are in form they should be able to take time in the Individual TTs against most of their rivals. If they are going to struggle it will be the mountains for both of them especially if Contador, Froome and Rodriguez cut loose. This weekend should be some sort of indicator for both of them.

Lampre were very good, 13'32" INT so a 12'49" back half if my maths isn't fail.

They have been quite good in TTTs lately, a bit under the radar.

They have been doing well in TTTs lately. They were barely mentioned when they crossed the line. Shame they have not got a potential GC rider for the podium. Cunego has a chance for stage win maybe.

Team Azenarioa was 25 seconds back at the intermediate check, 13:41 on the first half of the course, 13:39 on the second half (which, of course would put them last on the back half)

I think the team's result was not far off from the team's expectations. Vaughters predicted a close TT with Garmin being in the top 3 along with Greenedge (good call) and BMC (bad call). They missed the top 3 by 14 seconds so it was close. I agree they were over-hyped but that was more the result of the media playing up their chances and not because of what the team said.
Vaughters himself hyped up their team in advance, and several of his riders did. Millar clearly went for yellow. So this is a disappointing result, no matter how they try to spin it now.

Yes, they're maybe a bit more climbing-oriented than usual, but they haven't encountered any major crashes, unlike Sky, OPQS, Saxo... all ahead of them.

Didn't Hesjedal get into a crash on day one?
