Ok.. we should really keep up an injury/out list of top 10 gc contenders.
VDB, Brajkovic out, some other top 10 contenders are already behind in time, some favorites like Contador, Rodriguez, Quintana, Mollema all had falls already.

I wonder what the first mt stage will deliver.. Froome had a fall in the neutralization of stage 1, but other then that ofcourse no bad luck for him personally, although Sky already had their share.

Brajkovic was there as domestique, but big blow to the team. They lost both there mountain domestiques today.

Quintana crashed 3 times today and hurt his knee. Costa also crashed with cavendish and a few others with about 30k to go and hit his right knee pretty hard again.

His diary today looked fairly pessimist i must say. :(

Ouch and JRod was also down and hurt. #"!¤"%#& I had high hoped for JRod and Quintana :(

I really hate the 1st week of the Tour. Half of the favourites always get hurt due to crashes

Didn't saw the stage took the day off from Le Tour, too enjoy portuguese beaches. :D

I'm disappointed with VDNB withdraw, totally possible for him to manage top-5, he looks a hardworking rider and his main focus of the season was Le Tour, big blow for him.

Quintana and Costa tasting the ground again :(

Congratz on Greipel for his 1st stage in this year edition, classy rider.

On the replay guess i saw Porte doing a sprint to catch Evans wheel, poor guy even on flat stages is burning himself.

Then again they were weak in the TTT. Still not sure of the strength of them. Uphill Mollema will only have Ten Dam and maybe Gesink.

They never really were a time trial team, were they? And in the mountains it's not that important to have a team-mate, sure it is good, but I don't think Mollema will have trouble with that. And Gesink is taking it easy so I believe he'll be there to pass a bottle to Bauke or even to do a pull or two, but with Sky train aboard that's highly unlikely.

But what Froome did didn't have much purpose. Porte was in front of him so he was safe for the descend.

It shows you that Froome was afraid for the descend. What saxo does is what each GC team does.

This is rubbish. I imagine froome thinks it was worth it just for the footage of Cadel Evans ****ting himself when he catches sight of froome 20 meters in front when he comes back into view behind Porte.

What? Just saw that Greipel is the most combative rider of the day :confused::confused:

So combative... wheel suck to the last 200m. They could at least have given it to Mate who's the only one who tried something or Tuft who pulled the peleton for like 100km.

Mate couldn't get it cos he voluntarily fell back to the peloton. Not combative at all. That Greibel got it just shows that there was no offensive action on that stage. But really Cav should have gotten it for catching up with the peloton after the late crash and actually do the sprint.

concerning "first african to wear yellow jersey" and all...

when I'll see Teklehaimanot or Berhane in the yellow jersey I'll agree with that.

Impey is white-caucasic...

Slippery road you are taking there. So being African is a matter of colour? Does that also mean non white-caucasic cant be real Europeans?

Right it's the year 2013 and despite the fact you were born and grew up in the continent of Africa your not African because your ethnicity says otherwise.

Personally I'm still waiting for an Apache Indian to claim the first tour stage for North America. I just don't think inuits have it in them.

Well really Gerrans ancestors are British too. So no Australian has really has truly worn the yellow jersey yet.
