He didn't slow down. Sagan passed him as he was not riding in the wind. Just like EBH beat Sagan yesterday.

He did slow, he sat back down in the final hundred or so meters.

This sprint was basically a copy of yesterdays. With Cav as Greipel, Kittel as Sagan, Sagan as Hagen and Greipel as Cav. Atm it looks like the top sprinters pretty much neutralise each other and the guy with the best working leadout on the day wins.

Cav was also, no doubt intentionally, impeded by henderson which maybe cost him 2nd place

Was it? ..i think it was a great move by hendo...the way he dropped off after a great lead out.

Just like every other sprinter except Greipel. Some of them don't have proper leadout all season long.

Agreed - but when you plan to have a lead out and it isn't there - don't you think it could have hindered him eh

This. Kittel, cav and griepel are the 3 fastest in a straight flat finish and neither of them can pull out of the others slipstream and overtake so,whoever of the 3 is in front with say 200m to go is pretty much gonna win

He started from too far back and slowed down when he saw Greipel had it allowing Kittel and Sagan to past him. Greipel probably the fastest, Cav maybe 2nd fastest.

No. I've rewound it and watched it a few times now. Cav didn't give up and slow until Sagan and Kittel were clearly past him. Sagan was kind of using Greipel's slipstream, though.

Glad to see Greipel take it. Given the parcours, who would have guessed Sagan would be last of the Big 4 to win a stage?

Im not saying henderson did anything wrong, he just did a sort of 'grey area' tactical move which is what he's paid to do

I think its fair to say Cav is gonna struggle to win flat stages when shimano and lotto have the full train available

Euskaltel mountain goat 5th place, well done Lobato.

Actually, he's not a mountain goat, he's a sprinter. Has won bunch sprints in the past - Stage 2 of Castilla y Leon (admittedly not against a high-quality sprinting field) this year - and at Tour of Qinghai Lake last year against Guardini. (He was racing for Andalucia at the time).

5th today, 7th yestarday. The new Koldo?

Lobato is faster than Koldo. And he's a better climber too, he can survive some cat 3 climbs, so I'm expecting a few more top 10's for him during this Tour. A pleasant surprise.

Greipel was surprisingly strong today! Great work by Roelandts and Henderson, too.
