the Belkin management just had a sigh of relief seeing Bardet winning ahead of Lulu Sanchez... ;)

Glad to see Bardet score his first victory as a Pro. He has great potential and steadily improved this season, but he had had a hard time just scoring that first victory to lose his "virginity" so to speak (on Paris Nice and Route du Sud he was close twice). That victory can also help him unlock his potential. Great victory. And obviously very happy for Poels too !

Bardet, what a talent.
He should try the Giro next year. With most top riders going for the Tour a podium spot could be within reach.

Hold on, a GC podium is quite a big leap for him.

He's improved massively since turning pro last year. All signs point to him being an excellent GC rider next year, with podium potential in a particularly weak field. He was top15 in this year Tour. Very aggressive rider too, he lost plenty of time because of attacks from afar.

Howes proves Tour of Poland was not a one-off from him. 12th overall doesn't set the world on fire, but it's still much better than anything he was showing throughout his career so far.
