im a bit sad TGBM was so far back when the descent started. I'm sure he could've kept up with the best if he started in front. Oh well, he can always win another race in 3 years

Something I love about Sagan this year, when guys won't work with him, he goes "okay, I'll just ride away from you and take the win solo if need be."

Yup he's awesome that way, now he just needs to learn to pace himself where he really needs to and not underestimate his competitors (like in MSR) and he's going to win a monument in grand fashion.

Seems Sagan was planning for this stage. So he took it easy on purpose yesterday to be 100% today, which explains his climbing as he's fresher than other climbers (and an awesome talent).

GC was already 'over' for him with the time penalty. Otherwise he'd have had a chance at the podium.

Although maybe now he'll try a long range attack. The first in his life. Any other stages ending in descents? The guy likes to take risks.

It's not only about how he looks but his position in the peloton clearly showed that he was suffering, he was dropping further and further back. Sure, he looked to be in pain yesterday too but as much as today. I'm sure he's not ***, if he had been strong enough he'd been closer to the front.

Anyway, it's to be expected that his performance varies a bit from day to day considering that they just returned from altitude 4 days ago.

Appearently you watched an entirely different stage. I watched Mollema move up everytime someone else got into trouble before him. At the end of the climb he tried to move up but there was simply no room to pass.

He definately never got into real trouble.

If Costa was Dutch the press would be questioning him everyday because of his former suspension. So that wouldn't work out well for him

You obviously didn't follow the case. . . He was acquitted so there is nothing to question on that case.
