What was surprising about Gallopin in Qatar? Last year was the same, and yes, today's stage suits him.

the surprising was in relation to an earlier poster saying he didn't seem to be in top form. i disagreed with that and I agree with you. I rate him highly for today's stage.

I wonder will SKY test their train on this climb. It's a perfect climb to try. 1.8 at 8% to try and negate any attacks?

Contador of course, when was he ever able to resist? :D

I know he'll go for it if he has the legs.

Isn't it very Poggio and Milan San Remo today! I think if he had the legs, then there may be a big effort but the likes of maybe Sagan or someone in top form should go with him. With the end result as usual. Fabian comes 2nd.

On a seprate not does anyone believe his Fuentes links? This is not a drugs story, just I'd be devastated if he was involved

The poggio? LOL

This is a hill of 8% and you think it's similar to the poggio?

How much is the poggio? 5% at best?

That's clinic btw.

If you want to get banned you're doing great.

On the profile it seems that the climb is a bit longer than 1.8 km, it still goes up but less steep.

And at the complete end there's also a little hill, prob not more than 150 meters orso.

Gilbert or Sagan should win this if they've some decent shape.

amazing how folks jump on every word here, almost not worth posting. is there a prize for most sarcastic or best know-it-all in a day?

as a a reference only, and just for the feel of it, the speed will be high, the road is quick and good and there will be attacks close to the top in the hope they can get away on the descent. it reminds me of MSR to which I just drew comparisons to the fast approaching Classic and how some of today's riders, many of them Classic bound, may attempt to showcase.

The Poggio has an average of 5-7% with parts stretching over 11% on the hairpins. Closer to the top it actually coms to 9%.

Have you ever ridden it? It's breathtaking.

Lol there are tons of clinic references here all the time, but hardly anyone gets banned for them.

Contador will realize they're going uphill within 10k of the finish, and he'll be like "nothing to do here".

Ok so we had the bets and people whining, now to the race.

50 seconds left and that was a few minutes ago so i think the leaders are done.

Up to the 'climb' of 1.8 km
