2013 Vuelta a España, Stage 11: Tarazona→Tarazona TT (38.8km)

Horner: ”I’m not sure what can happen there, it’s been a couple of years since I’ve had a good time trial and I expect I’ll lose the lead to Nibali there,” he said. “Sometimes, sometimes,” he said, repeating the word to emphasise its rarity, “I do a good TT, though.”

Let's say you say Nibali will take the red from Horner in the ITT. I say he won't. If you win, you can choose an avatar for me to wear for a specific period of time (let's say a month). If I win, I choose your avatar.

Anyone interested?

I don't think Horner's standnig technique is going to help him much in the TT.

What is wrong with you guys?
If tommy voeckler can win both ITT and GC in a race, then why not Horner? There is always a first time, right?;)

Seriously though, it seems more like fab-martin for 1-2.
i am going to pitch j-rod for top-5.
in the GC race, i think horner will just about maintain it, or will lose upto 10 sec.

I like the design of this time trial.
Usual suspects for the victory, Martin and Cancellara.
Looking at their performances during this Vuelta, it should be very close.

Regarding the GC guys, I suppose the jersey will motivate Horner and after today's stage I don't dare to say he'll lose time to his rivals.
Nibali and Valverde should be close to each other.

Tony M. for the stage.

Horner has often pulled out a big TT performance when he's needed to. I don't see him losing the jersey on Wednesday but we'll see.

I wasn't sure if it was the correct profile or not, my bad.

Does anyone have a correct profile I can edit into the OP?

it's very easy to see that profile is wrong when the amount of km on the profile are way too much compared to the itt

Well, I can see the lift of wearing the red jersey giving Horner motivation and extra energy. (how many times we have seen that happen to a leader of a grand tour) But I cannot see that he would miraculously develop a TT position and this TT , although not extremely long is long enough to demand some skills. I would not be amazed if, being the last one to take off, he manages to keep it close and perhaps maintain his first place by a second or two. The same effort could also see him loose the lead by the same margin which then would leave him a dangerous foe for week 2

Why are we saying the profile is wrong? The map says 38.8km the profile say 38.8km. The profile says going up the side but not to the top of alto de moncayo, topping out at 1090, where as moncayo actually tops out at over 2000m. Where is the issue?

The profile's not wrong. I had a profile of just the climb in, but took it out as it turned out to be the wrong profile for it.

The profile's not wrong. I had a profile of just the climb in, but took it out as it turned out to be the wrong profile for it.

Got it cheers.

I doubt a 3% hill will slow Martin down. Martin, Daylight, Cancellara, daylight. everyone else. Hoping Barta has a good showing.
