20 seconds or so is hardly "cracking badly". Horner has to drop Nibali yet again in stage 18 or 20. It's still advantage Nibali.

It's quite a lot to lose in the last 2 km of a relatively easy climb on a relatively easy stage

"The DS told me to hang back in the peloton and save myself for next week, but he told me the same in the day I won my first stage so I went anyway."

Legend.

20 seconds in one km though.
I've been following Nibs for the past 6 or 7 years and I can tell when he cracks. He looked bad today.

I dont think its that impossible nowadays that people can compete at the top in endurance sports into their 40s. Modern medical technology means that injuries and stuff that would end someones career 20 or 30 years ago can nowbe dealt with. If the motivation is still there it can be done

What a great stage! What a pitty the late attacks but at least it's more interesting know. Another attack in Angliru, Naranco or Peña Cabarga and Nibai will have a lot to defend.

Purito is too far but as it happened in the Tour he's getting better and better.

An amazing discovery Warren Barguil! What a great rider!

Best GT stage of the year

Tbh. best GT stage of the year has got to be one of the rainy days in the Giro, where Wiggins lost 1½min and crashed/snailed his way down the climbs

Barguil swearing in English in his interview!

Didn't quite catch what rider he was saying isn't "s_hit". Himself or someone else?

Really pleased for the lad again today. Cut it fine but great stuff to hang in there with Uran and nick it on the line. Chapeau!

LBL 2012 was worse. Maybe he's sick from 2 days ago.

It was definitely one of the best.
I really enjoyed some of the Giro mountain stages too, but not sure what stage of the TDF this year I would pick.

In LBL he had been all alone on the attack for 20km or so. This is different. Think Cotobello 2010.

Could someone explain why Valverde stopped when he was leaving everyone else behind? On Spanish TV they talked about front wind but it can't be true!

Barguil is great in this Vuelta. Kinds of reminds me of Freire in his cunning (obvious not the type of rider). Shame for Uran though, 3rd in Lombardia last year, 2nd in the Giro '13 and the Olympics, he is bound to win a big one soon surely.
