No way this will be a break. It's a short stage followed by rest day and Valverde + Dorito still haven't won a stage, and this one fits their punch - even though their form is lacking.

That's the impression I've been getting as well. Still hoping for the opposite though. Better Nibali than the spanish duo though.

Anyway I was wondering because ITV said yesterday was "almost the greatest Vuelta stage you never saw" and I was thinking if Pajares 2005 wouldn't hold that honour.

Hinault Serranillos 1983 was probably better than both.

i just read that mollema was dropped.

The ticker says mollema nd nuyens dropped.

there might be a mistake as nuyens had abandoned race on stage 14.
