It's a shame the Vuelta doesn't have a young riders jersey, this kid Horner has been coming up this last few seasons, it could have been a good target. What a joke :(

In these topsy turvy times, when Nico Roche actually wins and with 68 year old American pensioners taking Grand Tour stages, it's good to know that some eternal verities have reasserted themselves: For the one billionth time in their relatively short careers, The Great Bauke Mollema finished precisely one place behind Dan Martin.

(Which was actually a pretty good performance by both, given that Mollema had to chase back on, and given that Martin seemed to be positioned right at the back when the climb started).

Seemed like a tougher finish than that lame profile suggested.

why are you complaining that the profile was lame?

the final climb was expected to break up the gc riders, with guys losing/gainiing a few secs.

there is a split at 3 sec-6sec, and 6sec-13sec.

so that is damn good.

why is there so much being said about horner.

he is a good oppurtunist. he assessed what was happening in the back, and timed his charge perfectly.

give the man credit, when he deserves it.

Horner is the oldest leader of a GT ever. In fact, he is more than three years older than the previous record holder (Andrea Noè).

I could see the Roche / Nibali group being give the same time as the Valverde group ultimately - there was hardly anything between them
