80 riders coming 14' 21" down. nearly 41% of riders coming together in an essentially flat race with a single 3rd cat climb @35 km from he finish.(@ half that distance was flat)

Thats a big WOW!!

Am wondering what will happen if they have a single cat 1 climb with 17km flat roads before finish

They simply rode slowly to preserve energy

Curiously Cancellara bridged a 1-2 second gap from Matthews to Moreno, so Horner would have come much closer to holding onto the jersey without Cancellara's bid for victory. But of course he had to go for it -- he had no way of knowing there was a gap behind him.

in an essentially flat race? Flat doesn´t exist in Galicia mate, today more than 2600 m of climbing!

And Ezaro is not a "normal" 3 cat climb anyway, we saw riders walking there today

The red splodge in this picture is Horner - gapped on the line

I think that "red splodge" is actually Dominik Nerz. In the results, the gap is between Huzarski in 21st and Nerz in 22nd. You can see the Cannondale jersey of Basso (23rd) to the left of Nerz. Horner was a few places back in 26th.

Accept your point. the 80 rides were taking it easy because of the 33% rule on time limit.

Ezaro is not a normal climb and giving it only cat 3, esp after what we saw in the race, suggests that either the organizers are sadists or hey dont give a dan abt is said about them.
clearly, it should have been a higher cat climb, or they should not have put 34.3 km after it.
Those disgruntled riders chose the easy way out.

No they don't.

Hazallanas is not 'very easy'.
Angliru is not 'very easy'.

Envalira is the Cima Fuente.

calling Angliru easy or very easy is like calling potato a cereal.
