The Ugandan riders didn't start yesterday either. Apparently the funds for sending the team to the Worlds were embezzled.

Hmm Machado's avg speed just under 50 ks.

Course doesn't look to be particularly technical - more out and out power...

Machado actually was the first to finish it seem.s

He has not finished. I was thinking same, 51 mins is v good for 56.8 km course, he still has the last 13 ks to go ;)

Ah, right, the Bulgarian could catch him then.

eta: nonsense, started 5 minutes behind.

I've just noticed something... Which could make a difference -

The TT length is 56.8 km ... I note the Olympic one where Wiggins beat Tony was only 44 kilometres.

Do longer TTs favour Tony relative to Bradley ?

A short/technical TT would favour Cancellara - given his prologue and bike handling skills - , but this TT looks to be neither of those.

One amazing thing is that Cancellara is doing the Road Race immediately after the TT and he is reckoned to go well in both.

Tells you alot about the man, that does.

Different day, but he is faster than Gourmetfein-Simplon, Utensilnord, Jo Piels and Velo Club Sovac

i would think this length gives Martin the edge... but who knows.. it's not like they do these distances much
