I'm a bit disappointed with Kudus though. I didn't see the race, but I get it he wasn't anywhere to be seen from the comments?

I know he only likes long climbs, but from being real strong a few days ago on a long climb to not even being seen dropping on today's climb is a bit extreme......

I think he had a mechanical or something he was going to the front pretty quickly when Hansen attacked and seconds later he dropped like a stone, and seemed to be looking down his bike.

EDIT: MTN reports he was suffering for his injury, so guess he was just going over his limit there.

Taaramae wrote in his blog that he is not dissapointed, he talked with Yates during stage and he is happy for him. He added that team could not make tempo and it was too slow, so Yates was able to attack. Taaramae said he lacks rough power for sudden attacks.

Awesome performance by Formolo as well who is a month younger than Adam Yates, but not nearly as hyped.

What a ****ty moaning post.

-Adam Yates is not hyped at all - so littled hyped that people were picking his brother for this race despite it clearly suiting him far more.

- 1 month is absolutely nothing in development - amazed you thought that was worth mentioning.

- There is a performance differential - you think people should get giddy about 4th and ignore the guy in 1st on GC?

Today's winner:

Formolo still learning how to ride a bike.

I like to see Yates in a TT soon, a sort of 30km test mostly flat please.

Overreacting much?

He just pointed out that Formolo did a good race as well. Jesus...

Did someone step on a Brit, or why are you acting so crazy?

So you have no reading comprehension either.

The guy said Yates was hyped up and so causing Formolo to be unfairly overlooked. This was nicely compounded by a bizzare suggestion that Formolo's achievements should be worth more because he's a couple of weeks younger.

Back in the real world, there is 0 Adam Yates hype before this week.

You have to see the difference between things he actually said, and what you think he was implying.

He didn't say that Formolo was "unfairly" overlooked. He said that Adam Yates was MORE hyped than Formolo, which is clearly the case (I've never even heard of Formolo, to be honest).

He didn't suggest that his performance should be worth more because he is a month younger, he just mentioned that he is (a fun fact, more than anything).

Also, your last comment is bizzare. I've heard LOTS of hype about Adam Yates.

You haven't watched the race then. The commentators on the first climb repeatedly talked about Formolo being Cannondale team leader, whilst they struggled to not call Yates Simon if they mentioned him at all before he attacked.

Would love to see this Adam Yates hype. In this very thread people were speculatively picking Simon Yates to win when he clearly is not suited at all, because they did not know about Adam and his abilities.

Your interpretation of the initial comment would be valid if there was an extra comma before the middle clause, but there wasn't, so it clearly reads as a slight on Yates. Clearly given the skandi intepretation, it may be that the OP isn't native and didn't mean that, but the words are the words.

Well, i am guilty too, always confuse the 2. shouted for Simon at the beginning of the threat as i thought he was high finisher in Avenir when it was his brother. Sorted that out now Adam is A venir champ, S imon is the uphill S printer :D

You know there sometimes are different commentators for different countries, right?

I did watch the race, but with a Norwegian commentator, who more or less only talked about Adam Yates going into the climb. He also had Adam as the big favourite on the mountain stage earlier in the race...

Just saw the highlights of the stage. This kid has scary potential. Mega impressed. He reminded me of a young Robert Millar in both the way he attacked and his climbing style. I'm excited by these boys.

Yeah ever since the Tour de L'avenir the Yates brother's hype has been growing. This performance by Adam is no surprise to me.

There is a thread on this forum called "Brothers in (crank) arms - Yates Discussion Thread."....oh wait - you started it, so I don't need to tell you. :D :p

There isn't LOTS of hype in there, but there is some hype in there. And I didn't even look past there. I'm sure there's more around here somewhere...just don't feel like looking for it.

a little hype never killed anyone, its nice to have something good to say about good young riders, they went up in my book for not taking the sky offers and going orica and pushing the boat out.

Wait, what? Holy ****. I was just making a point that Formolo deserves credit too. And that like Yates he is also very young. Jesus, you need to settle a bit.

Absolute dog**** from Cav - thought it was already won and didn't sprint, then no time to correct his mistake.

think he just sat up once passed not because he thought he had won, always eases up once beaten lead out left him a little early great sprints from behind.
