What are Orica-Greenedge going to do for the rest of the Giro? Seriously? Their team is here for the first stage and nothing else. Rather pathetic for a Grand Tour tbh.

They will send big gear Weening out and conquer the Stelvio stage.....

Well, they have Mathews and considering the form he showed in some classics I can see him grabing a stage or some podiums. They also have Italy champion Santaromita wich is pretty cool.(he can go to some mountain breakwaways). Cam and Weening are not bad cyclists neither...

What do you expect them to do? This TTT is a good opportunity for them, they could potentially keep pink for a week.

Matthews can also fight for the points jersey.

They don't hand out ANY GT stage victories with the lunchtime meal so you target those stages that might suit the make-up of your team. Just how many teams are there in this field with realistic GC contenders or even stage contenders ? Methinks there may be a number who walk away empty or very nearly on the score of WT points

Other realistic goals for OGE:

- Matthews for stage placings and potential wins in sprint stages, especially those that may be "selective".
- Durbridge for a high finish in the 1st ITT.
- the likes of Meyer, Santaromita & Weening to go stage-hunting.

They should at least walk away with some points, if not victories, from this event.

Well many teams won't even win a stage, so 1 stage will be better than none. With a few flat days after this they can have the jersey for a while too.

Let's not forget Matthews had a chance some stages and also there will be a few who take their chance in the breaks.

Currently got up at 2:40am to watch some cycling...a bit nuts to say the least.

It's the start of the Giro. So it's perfectly sane and okay. ;) This is required viewing.

I'm not going to my class that is in 10 minutes so I can watch this. Luckily today's class is optional and all that's happening in it is a makeup for the first test.

My health generally takes a toll during May as I have a heavy workload and am staying up most nights to watch the Giro at the middle of the night.:D

Yep, silly time to have a bike race, but I've been looking forward to it this year. Great to have full coverage this year. Sounds like SBS are providing their own commentators too! Keenan & McKenzie work well together.
