Easily the most wide open stage so far. Going to be a lot of competition to get into the breakaway, because this is one of the most breakaway-friendly stages in the Giro. I think Arredondo's chances are a bit underrated at the moment. Final climb is really tough.

"then it will pay an homage to me by passing through Genova, where most likely it will freeze the traffic of the few most important roads of the city, provoking many colorful expressions among the notoriously cheerful residents."

Thanks for this gem Eschnar! Got a good laugh at that.

Where did you read that?

He crashed while being near the team car.
I wouldnt put my money on him but on someone like Adam Hansen, also considering how he was climbing in Turkey and the long downhill till the finish line.

For Duarte? How so?

Hardly looks like it.

Because it is a proper climb, quite steep and long. Duarte can descent, and he's fast. He can win from a 5/10 man group due to his sprint.

Duarte is just not a GC rider. If he has a bad day, he really has one, and loses like 10 minutes. That's just too much for being a real GC threat.

Duarte does have all the capacities to do well in the classics and stages like these in GT's. Look at Mendrisio 2008.

I would like to see Seb Henao in the break: he has been quite solid so far, 50th in GC, 21th in Sestola coming in with the favourites. Very well done so far, now get into a break and show us a bit more!
Polanc as well :)

Hagen would be great as well but he's probably leading out Swift or whoever is there from Sky that wants to take a shot at a top25 on the stage

Given their tactics in this race so far, I fully expect Sky to put Sutton in the break tomorrow.

Some Cannondale riders fail to deliver this year:
Gatto, Ratto, Moser, Villella (after his promising performance last autumn)
Viviani fails in all WT races
The whole team looks struggle, don't know why

Poels for the win. However you like it...breakaway, solo attack. :)

Poels is fully dedicated to helping Uran. He said so himself in a dutch newspaper yesterday. He is really confident in Uran so has no problem working for him since he thinks that Uran has a big chance of winning this Giro.

Roche in the break today? I think so, or even a EBH could have a go, Bak and Adam are the obvious choices, but with Roche and EBH in the break it will be a tough one. My money is on EBH today.
And it will definitely be a breakaway who takes it today, important day Thursday, or maybe Hugo will make a bet about that? ;)
