Where do you guys find odds for the individual stages? Can't find any bets for tomorrows itt, only outright
If you use oddschecker.com it will give you comparative odds for each bookie incl Paddypower, bet365 etc and allows you to see who has odds up

Also I done hand times over the last 4km, never did the gap drop under 20secs until near the end it was a GPS fault and not BMC slowing down the chase

It must be said, which other sport in the modern era has athletes that start events and realistically don't know if they will come through in tact?

To be a cyclist one has to constantly live with the threat of an ever present danger.

And it's not even a "contact" sport.

The risk is even greater in motorsports. The higher the speed, the greater the risk. Same goes for alpine skiing and some extreme sports as well.

Well that is true and I had already imagined the response. That said, this is a cycling forum. Add in the suffering on a daily basis and it all becomes more compelling.

after seeing this same scenario happen twice in a week, i gotta say, i smell race-fixing.

phinney getting a big win off the front in front of adoring u.s. fans is a real feel good story.

slick mick getting a showy comeback win in his first gt back from his 'misunderstanding' is another really great story for his adoring aussie fans.

watching bmc lay off today could be just cadel gifting a stage win to his aussie friend.

but the fact of identical stage win scenarios with feel-good vibes, especially when one of those features the race leader's team a little too ostentatiously sandbagging the chase, makes me a bit skeptical. it looks too much like a post-tour crit.

it doesn't smell good.

so what, welcome to the new era of revenue-oriented cycling

Man that was lame. I mean the Phinney one was a bit daft but that was Cannondales fault at least there was a bit of a fight but this one geez pathetic. Rogers rides off and the peloton goes 'Say hi to your mother we're just going to pick some flowers'.

I can not understand why some of the lone riders didn't jump off to a least make a damn contest. That's all we want a damn contest!

Been going on all year, except for the cobble races. There is a level of apathy in the peloton that is hard to fathom. The guys in the group on the top of the hill too (Rolland, Arredondo et al). They just stopped riding.

But yeah, was looking forward to this stage. Couldn't watch it live but saved it up. Then Rogers wins the stage  about the worst possible outcome for me.

Man! Orica had a great start to the Giro and then 3 riders out. The joys and pains of a GT....bummer.

Have a look and see who is now last in the GC.

Svein Tuft (Can) Orica Greenedge

One end of the GC to the other. Only 5 OGE riders left now. OGE now last in the Team GC as well.

It's actually FOUR riders out now, isn't it?

Stage 7
DNS Brett Lancaster (Aus) Orica GreenEDGE

Team 8
DNS Cameron Meyer (Aus) Orica GreenEDGE

Stage 11
DNF Luke Durbridge (Aus) Orica Greenedge
DNS Michael Matthews (Aus) Orica Greenedge

Still, they have to be satisfied with this Tour.

Durbridge crashing out has to hurt them though, he was looking good for another strong showing in the TT :(

What reason did BMC have to chase ? Evans was never going to to win the sprint in that bunch. Geschke clearly won the bunch sprint. His team was the one that should have chased. The fact that Evans sprinted and finished outside the top 10 says it all.

BMC gave it to him, but i don't think the conspiracy goes beyond that. I can see Evans giving Rogers a win, I can't really see any point to the race organisers/UCI giving rogers a win. It's hardly a feel good win like Phinney infront of his home crowd.

i certainly didn't feel good about it. but there are a few ozzies on here that might disagree.

there is a difference between not chasing and actively slowing down the chase which is what bmc did today.

i'm sure there's no grander conspiracy here. or IS THERE?!

I obviously can't speak for all of us but I was simply glad that someone had the cajones to dig deep and try something, regardless of nationality.

Rogers put his head down, descended like a demon and didn't look back. There isn't enough of it with the conservative racing we see so much of these days.

If Geschke wanted the stage win he should have organised a proper chase. Tell Evans to "suck it up, I'm going for the stage."
