This race must be fu...ing stressful for Sagan. It is him against everybody in this race. Many people wish him to win but even more people wish him to fail. :D GOOD LUCK PETER. Bring it home !

if the race became a Sagan vs rest, then he will definitely win.(unless he is dropped by some untoward circumstance)

i think this course offers hope to almost everyone. The team that controls the race will win, unless somebody wore an extra human underwear ;)

i hope for cav to win this. but it might be Sagan's turn this time.

Really would like Sagan to win this one - but had to vote 'other' because he will be such a marked man, it's going to be tough.

Good Luck Peter Sagan!

Very sad news about Tommeke and his partner. :(

Will be thinking about them - hoping / wishing them well.

Sagan and Degenkolb have to be the big favorites. But this race has been so unpredictable in recent years, which is why I love it.

Some dark horses who have not been mentioned: Bennati, Colbrelli, Matthews, Simon Clarke.

Three years ago he was a consistent winner, now he just went through an entire Paris-Nice without a single top 20.

He was sick? But yes I remember when people thought he was a bigger talent than Sagan...feels like yesterday.

I'll be hoping Sagan can take his first monument. But I imagine it will be harder this year with the absence of Le manie making a sprint all the more likely. If it comes down to a sprint I'm not sure Sagan will have the necessary top end speed to beat Cav and Greipel (assuming they are there).

I think Degenkolb could be a big player as well. I could see him winning in a bunch sprint or in the sprint between a break that survives.

And Modolo's my wildcard pick. Been having a good season, he could be one guy that emerges from nowhere to take the win.

Sagan to win his first monument for me.

Also Boonen wont be competing for sad reasons.

Sad to hear, right decision for him not to compete. :(

Cannondale is gonna go crazy on the Cipressa and Poggio. Sagan or Degenkolb for the win! Phinney for top 5. From who can we expect an attack on the Poggio other than Cancellara, Ulissi or Gilbert?
Perhaps Sagan himself?

A Group of 12-14 riders will come together towards the finish.
The big guns will watch each other, and some dark horse will manage to Escape the last couple of hundred meters and steal the silverware.

That might very well be someone like Ulissi or Vichon or G.

Surprised there has been no mention of Tom Jelte Slagter.

Degenkolb and Matthews are definitely in good form as far as sprinters are concerned.

OPQS, as always, could do well. Kwiatkowski or Uran for long range attacks. Meersman to follow attacks on the Poggio (and/or sprint from a reduced group) and Cavendish if it goes to a bunch sprint.

Greipel to be up there but not having the legs at the finish, Degenkolb to go into the wind too early and Sagan to win coming from Degenkolb's wheel.

If Cavendish manages to stay in the front group until the finish he should win it, he has a knack for that sort of thing.

Matthews has been climbing really well in Paris-Nice, better than Degenkolb but not as good as Jose Rojas-Gil. Rojas is a serial loser though and the distance will get him, it may well claim Matthews too. Degenkolb and Sagan will more than likely be on the podium it just depends where.
