Fair enough, but what are the chances of a real result in TdF and TdR (outside of stage wins)?

For Moreno in the Tour you mean? Well, perhaps a stage win, but you're right in terms of GC, not very much. Top 10 is the max, but i don't know if Moreno and the team will fight for that.

However, i forgot Katusha fully put their focus on Kristoff in the Tour. He will be their team leader, so they will fight for the green jersey, and for stage wins with attacking riders like perhaps Ignatiev, Belkov.

So no Tour for Moreno if this is the case, but i heard that he fully focus himself on the Vuelta, and perhaps not will compete at the Giro.

So perhaps:

Giro: Purito
Tour: Kristoff
Vuelta: Purito, Moreno

Possible, but he will still be expected to work 100% for J-Rod in two tours and the odd monument. That takes Moreno out of the TdF imo, leaving just a few stage race opportunities where TT'ing ain't too important. F-W is a must target imo.

Moreno has been helpful to purito in the vuelta. In the others, not so much.

Libertine can mentally guess the profiles based on the distance :p

Right now i am i can't in about an hour or so i will check the portuguese PCMdaily forum and see if i can get some more details about the course.

Particularly the 3rd cat 5k from the finish on stage 2.

But overall it looks real good i must say.

Just check pcmdaily and unfortunately the climb 5k from the finish on stage 2 isn't the foia climb, as that climb is a solid cat 2.

Still so close to the end it could see some attacks.

The Malhão will passed for the first time 43k from the end this year unlike last year when it was passed 80k from the end. And the 1k at 13% ramp 11k before the finish on the malhão stage if raced hard to shatter the peloton before the malhão even starts.

The tt length is imo the right one for the difficulties in the race.

Overall i think it course is very good.

Shame they didn't use Foia but if they did it would have been the queen stage because is much harder than malhão so i understand their decision.

Thanks, perhaps I've missed it but do we have a list of teams participating?

meh, this should be about right for anybody who wants to call themselves a top rider (and who is not a youngster) in this sport.

Below 80 (or close to) race days I think. No problem.

Look at Purito's build up. Not that many races, but it will favour him for the classics. Last year, Piti didn't rode Pais Vasco, but he was good in the classics.

This year, with Dubai, VPV and the Belgian/Italian classics, i think he takes up to many races, comparing to someone like JRod.

Purito will make 77/78 race days this year, without Tirreno and Pais Vasco.

It's 77/78 days for Piti in the linked program

Maybe also Amorebieta, Nationals, Worlds and Lombardia.

Will probably be over 80, but not by much.

I see no problem with any of these guys' schedule. Both will be close to 80 race days and they will be competitive in the Vuelta, Worlds and possible Lombardia, i.e at the very end of the season.

edit: mostly redundant.

yea well deserved after the Vuelta peformance last year.

Other info:

Looks like a showdown between Feillu and Froome on Hautacam.

Also Haussler and Chava will go all in on the cobbles stage. Its going to be carnage.
