So for me,

Trophée Bro Leon YES a real French quasi Flemish race.
Vuelta Ciclista a Murcia a very clear NO (out of place here)
G.P. Camaiore NO

Frankly, Camaiore GP is more a criterium on a local circuit than what we call in Belgium a real Spring classic. And the Tour of Murcia is a mountain race, and does no have is place in THIS competition.

A different approach, but fair enough. ON Camaiore...that's a long circuit for a crit, I suppose the world's, Quebec and Montreal are crits too? ;)

I would say include Vuelta Ciclista a Murcia and G.P. Camaiore and not Tro Bro Leon, because the riders who participate in the Tro Bro are not likely to score some points in the other races whereas the riders who participate in the first two can score points in the other hilly races.

Why is that a bad thing, though? (assuming that is indeed the case)

Unecessary work, plus we have to draw the line somewhere. The idea was .WT, .HC and selected .1 races.

So......is Boonen peaking to early or is Cancellara behind? Interesting to see their verbal justifications for were they are. My feeling is that Cancellara is lacking behind - if I remember it right he wasn't top form in the dessert races in the past but he was always in the mix. I certainly can't remember him ever being dropped from first group. Or am I wrong?

Boonen isn't peaking too early, his performance in Qatar is pretty much the same as any other year and he always was in top shape for RVV/PR so no need to worry. Cancellara, like Boonen is very experienced and knows how to hit his peak at just the right time, so I'm not really concerned about him. Though he was never stellar in Qatar, he has been subpar this year. My guess is that he won't dig as deep for smaller races before RVV/PR as usual because he will need to have something left in the tank for the hour record.
