It's going to be fast and furious. I'm expecting average close to 42 kph, and won't be surprised even if it's higher.
Nice opportunity to see new-old, reinforced, train in action, but it's far from reserved for Cav.

If I was a rider I would stay safely in the group and avoid wasting time in a break

its all about Cav vs Kittel for sprinting supremacy- I might be inclined to go with Kittel because his team is fully supporting him while OPQS has riders going for GC & may lack the depth to help Cav..
we shall see

I think the Gorilla is definitely in the mix. In fact, I'd put him slightly ahead of Cav at this point in time.

Will be a boring stage. Only question is someone able to break into the Big 3? Demare/Modolo? And which order the Big 3 will take. Would say Kittel is the fastest.

Is weight loss the new thing even for sprinters?

yes, if you want to challenge sagan for points jersey, or for MSR in example. Greipel showed in Oman, that he certainly got closer to Sagan and won the stages, which would clearly be Sagan's in previous years.

Kittel-Greipel-Sagan.

Cav to finish 17th or thereabouts and throws his bike through the team bus. :D

OPQS dont have many rouleur workers in their team for Cavendish do they? Could be a hard week for Martin, Poels and Trentin

Well Sagan, as much as I would like to see that, he hasn't shown either sprinting form or will to fight in sprints so far, so his actual sprinting ability remains a mystery. However, with coming MSR, he might want to test also this aspect of his current shape. We'll see.

Hoping for Bennett to make it into the top ten. More hills near the end would be better for him though.
