How the **** did he lose 4 minutes??? You crash, you're down for 30 -40 seconds maybe. Even people who were too injured to continue the Tour have usually got back up quicker than that.

Then what happens the next 3 minutes. He just stood there?

Had to change his shoes. Seemed to be broken.

Wouldn't it be benficial for Astana to have Kwia take yellow? He's hardly a GC threat

It is better to see Contador out of the race

But they don't seem to be going all out

They had to stop the bleeding on his knee and dress the wound. Then they had to change his shoes.

Astana is not riding anything hard, according to the timing Contador gained 30'' alone. (Though it might have been the car help. :D )

Terrible news for this Tour. He looks completely calm though.

Usually riders looking this calm in a situation like that is not a good sign. I remember Anton when he fell in the Vuelta a few years back. He knew it was over and was very calm, no need for stress anymore.

Is it just me, or is Astana just riding at the front. They don't really seem to be pushing it?

Heavily bleading from knee area, got a bandage from race doctor and then a not-very-quick shoe change.
