Well I differ in thought of what Talansky can bring. I think he is so bad right now that I'm pretty sure he is worthless for the rest of the Tour. I don't think he stands a chance of recovering in time to be good in this Tour. So if anything it's dumb, it's letting Talansky ride on. But that's my opinion.

Sometimes I guess that riders just refuse to climb off. I remember Denis Galimzyanov toiling into Luz Ardiden in 2011, plainly knew from a long way out that he was going to miss the time limit but refused to stop. The race organisers were taking down the finish gantry already when he appeared, crossed the line and turned round immediately to head back to the team bus.
