Nice job by Astana, I thought they weren't strong enough to get the break back alone, but they did. So, who attacks first? Pinot is the one who needs the time the most.

No. Netapp build team around König as sole leader. Of course they wanted to show themselves in breakaways, too.
Machado, Mendes a de La Cruz should have been main helpers for the mountains.

Well Machado crashed hard, de La Cruz is at home. What do you expect?
Netapp does fine as a wildcard team.

Well, in the absence of Sky and Contador fanboys, we have this guy. Sigh.

Anyway, the hard part of the climb starts at 8.5 to go approx.

It hurts you when you have to fetch bottles from the car behind peloton every time, all race. And it isn't exactly anonymous. At least he tried to win stage and showed some balls. But well...yeah, you are obviously smart guy.

You're not allowed to fetch bottles in the last kms and he always has several teammates before that.

It's like having a discussion with a squash court, but whatever

What is there to like about him? (Question also to earlier-in-the-thread poster Piti4Podiums)

I think there's plenty to like about him. He's arguably been the most versatile rider in the peloton over the last decade and is one of only a couple of riders to win a monument and a GT in the last 15 or so years. He's also won close to 100 races, and I'm guessing more than any non-bunch sprinter for many years.

And like Carols, I've been a fan for 10+ years. It started for me in his second season when I saw him finish in the top 10 in 12 stages of the Vuelta at 23. He then repeated the feat the following year.

I admit, I've been irritated by some of his race tactics the last few years.
