Contador and Nibali both look strong, two man tour unless Porte can avoid having a horrible day. Looking forward to the big mountains!

This will be a very good battle between Contador and Nibali

Also it looked like Costa dropped his chain at the start of the climb but i am not sure. When they turned left to the climb He wasn't pedalling and was looking at his chain

Awful lot of work from TS for a handful of seconds. Going to be interesting how many times they can repeat that over the next few days.

Good stuff by Porte and Pinot too

Prbably not just about theseconds, but testing everyone. Contador stronger than Nibs on a short climb like this, Fuglsang dropped.

Nibali put on a poker face for Contador but once Contador accelerated before the line Nibali blew...Contador must be smiling:D

Except the last 100m.

I think he just relaxed a bit. Didn't really look in trouble to me at all. 3 seconds really won't mean anything anyways IMO.

I thought he just let it go, indifferent.

The way he stopped pedaling on the line didn't give that impression. But we'll see in the next few days.

Yea i think he overestimated nibali a bit at the end, good bluff from nibali. He seemed to not even go 100%

It does on a mental part. And nibali kinda bonked at the end.

Nah, he was done. Nibali never looks in trouble until he cracks.

Hate to be a downer, but I'm seeing a lot of very very hopeful thinking from people with Astana colors in their avatars. I hope Nibs can hold out, but he definitely cracked at the end there. Shark's blood in the water?

I agree with this. He looks very strong. Did you notice he stood up for the last 1+km? I haven't seen him do that since 2009. I don't see Nibali stay long with him.

More like he was in the red for 1.8km and gave up in the end knowing he wouldn't lose much, he won't be able to do that on PDBF.
