Rolland accidentally getting a gap?

I thought the pace would be kept rather higher than it was prior to that climb, delicately poised stage now.

Rolland is a true showman, you can not be bored with Rolland racing. :)

This is true. Pretty much applies to their whole team. Always visible in breaks for the doms and not afraid to go from a long way out for their bigger riders.

This particular move is doomed though.

Rolland is awesome, but I don't really understand his thinking today, why waste energy like that with no hope to preserve the gap to the finish?

So we can be sure that Nibs is kicking himself for not going with. ;) :p

Why just sit in the pack and do nothing? Going on the attack he has a chance and at least get's some TV time for the team. If he sits in the pack he get's nothing.

Sponsor coverage? Or maybe he just likes to be in this position? Come think of it, even if you "know" you are doomed, pretty cool to attack and be in the lead!

Because it's a stage win in the Tour. Obviously HE doesn't think there's no hope!:)

He's not in this race for the GC anyway, he just rides for the dots.
