Part of a commentators job is to ham up the excitement. What would Ligget's employers think if he just said 'Gerrans will win the GC bar a disastrous crash, Evans and Ulissi have no chance of overhauling him despite only being a second or so behind'.?

Im no particular 'fan' of Liggett but he seemed to do a respectable job at the TdU

I think it was going to be a leadout, until the Lotto train went flying past. Renshaw did the smart thing and jumped on the back of it. This meant a leadout wasn't required because he had the best wheel in the pack - Greipel.

Of course it was. It's completely useless when a lead-out guy just sits on a sprinter's wheel with 250m to go. This only means that your sprinter has to make up even more ground.
