Talking of wattage can i ask a silly question? I measured my power output for running up the stairs in my home. I weigh about 75kg and ran up the stairs (2.6m) in about 2.6 secs, so my power for a few secs is about 735W. This seemed surprisingly high for me (I am not a blob but wouldnt consider myself very strong or athletic). Can this result compare with power numbers for pro cyclists or does the fact that its a completely different physical task mean its not really comparable?

you should find your wattage on a bike. It is not really comparable as far as I can see :p

not sure I would place as much faith in Sagan as smoe might, I like Stybar here we know he is in form.

These highlights are pretty awful, music over the whole production

I thought the same, why are they playing music over the highlights? They didn't do it last year, it makes the whole thing look and sound tacky. Also I appreciate Oman trying to show off their country but when the highlights are only 25 minutes long I don't wish to spend nearly 10 minutes looking at all your ancient buildings and monuments!

Two short but steep climbs today towards the finish. Not long enough to cause any trouble I think but am sure a few will try and jump there to see if they can pull off a surprise. Especially the last climb before the finish - rated @ 9%+

Oman the race that goes backwards. Not sure why green mountain can't be shown live not like any people are ever on it for them to censor. Its just strange lovely country that it is

Stage 3 in progress...

After 45km, break of 4 with 2:55:

Ista (IAM), Wallays (TSV), Boem (BAR) and Maaskant (UHC)

Updates and pictures here: https://twitter.com/TourofOman_live

Speed regulation in Oman also covers cyclists I understand. We are going at around 37 km/h average.

Its barely a training ride. but we will get action later.

Okay, that one's a bit unexpected... last year this finish was raced harder. But last year Contador was there, always the fighter.

So Gorilla is in very good shape, but I gotta say action sounded pretty dull anyway.

Moving on.

Yep

Sagan and Bouhanni finish second and third.

Top 7 GC anyway

1. Greipel
2. Howard
3. Kristoff
4. Sagan
5. Bouhanni
6. Boonen
7. Gallopin
