Argggghhhh!!! man oh man this stinks! I really like him and he has done well so far this season....was hoping to see more of him. How long (in general and if all goes "normal") does it take for this type of break to heal?

He will miss Le Tour, that should be certain.

The team that didn't even ride the Tour of California, takes 1-2 in USA Championships. :)

Really wanted Howes to win this, but he is more climber than a sprinter so I knew he stood little chance in that kind of finish.:(

A tweet from Team SmartStop director Michael Creed:

To all the riders, teams and races who turned their nose up at us. Let me repeat myself. Hi, we're team SmartStop and we came to race.

The team did not receive an invitation to this year's Tour of California. SmartStop riders placed 1st, 2nd, and 5th in today's US Pro Men's Road National Championships.

Eric who?

a 34yo nobody wins, lol great!

Well, nobody's a nobody, really.

Yes, Eric Marcotte is thirty-four (and I believe this is just his second year as a professional rider). He also works full time in addition to racing bikes, in the mold of the early 20th century French and Belgian riders.

A nobody? Nah, he's not a nobody. He's a champion.
