Eric who?

a 34yo nobody wins, lol great!

Eric is an accomplished rider and for us riding/racing in SoCal he is an established name/rider. He already won the "amateur" US Nationals few years back, so no surprise here.

When I saw his name in the break, I was already thinking that if they don't get caught, he got a chance as he is a pretty fast finisher.

I'm happy for him and for everyone from his team and also all his friends and ex teammates from Southern California.

I would wager Creed would have a pretty well-coached squad and most likely beyond speculation.

The sport of cycling is more than about who wins. It's about the race itself.

Shame you don't understand that.

You misunderstood my post, shame!

I'm not sarcastic, I'm actually saying it's great that a nobody, because seriously, who knew him before today except insiders to the us cycling scene, wins the US championships.
It gives all other amateurs and older beginning riders hope.

Anything is possible.

Sadly, my post has unintentionally come across as something completely different I see

It's because you used lol at the end. If you had just said great then it would be easier to see your true meaning/. Using lol always makes people think you are being sarcastic.

If he can do 277 watts for 8 hours, he deserve to be national champ and he would have no problem riding on any WT team.

From his Facebook page:

So stoked for what has happened, not only yesterday, but this whole year for the team. It's been so special, and I am so lucky to be a part of it. Yesterday sums up why cycling is such an incredible sport and why we can all be excited every time we head out to train. It's possible if you stay focused, committed, have a great support system, and believe in yourself.

I hope to make all that follow cycling proud this next year representing the USA with the Stars & Bars

I know I can (I know I can)
Be what I wanna be (be what I wanna be)
If I work hard at it (If I work hard at it)
I'll be where I wanna be (I'll be where I wanna be)

Can't think of a better set of lyrics and photo to capture it. Slept on the box bed the entire time here at the host house. It's how it goes out on the road!! Off to PHX. See you all on the road.

Anyone else like how tactically ignorant Garmin looked in that race?

SmartStop had THREE of the top-5, so it's easy to look an idiot when another low-budget team's results are spectacular.

I definitely did not expect those results. It's what makes cycling great though.
