it's a tricky tactic. Valverde seems to want to chase the bonus point and so does Purito. Contador should just wait for Froome, at least he will leapfrog Valverde first. And it should lit up valverde's pants

Valverde and Purito are complete tools.

They prefer to have a "safe" podium spot than to fight for the La Vuelta victory.

Hate this lack of ambition

A shame Valverde and Rodriguez didn't want to ride but I'm still unconvinced by Alberto: he seeems far from his Spring/Dauphine shape.
If Valverde and Rodriguez keep riding like this, Froome is the biggest threat for red. Even Contador might hang on to them.

I usually complain about the Vuelta but Covadonga is such a beautiful climb.
Niemec was tough, well deserved win.
Contador, hats off. So many attacks for nothing though. He should probably change his tactics.
Valverde back to his wheelsucking self. He's the biggest threat to Berto.
Purito had the team to smash this but no balls.
Amazing fight by Froome, Aru and Dan Martin.

This was a good stage.

well said. Those guys are either an idiot or what? they seem to just wanting to chase bonus point to win vuelta. Froome is closing in and none of those guy feels the need to up the speed. Tomorrow, contador should just wait for Purito and valverde and let froome back in the mix at the final climb. I want to see what they will do? sprinting to the line again??

Actually not. If they would ride Froome would be distanced and they would be riding for podium. But they know that after such an effort Contador will drop them, and winning the Vuelta would become impossible.

Now they're not riding, they can outsprint Contador and take some boni's and they actually have a chance of winning. A small one yes.

Why are you guys whining? Purito attacked 2/3 times. Valverde was the only one wo didn't do a single attack.

And based on his sprint, Purito was on his max.

And Katusha was really strong, but Caruso and Moreno dropped everytime Contador or Purito attacked.

At this rate with bonuses, Valverde is the biggest threat
He'd be leading if he didn't attack yesterday

Yes. Despite Froome not giving up he is still dropping and works his way back. Its not like the 2013 version we have here. He seems to be distanced at this stage.

Valverde/Purito are cowards but we knew that already and they wont win anyway.

Alberto never broke that leg.

Sure mr. ghosthunter.. but does it matter ' he was in great form and spoiled his tour in a fall that was obvius for anybody..

I guess if you put some effort into and talked to the people involved, that you could likely break the story to the public. (go for it) otherwise' lets assume that it depends on how you define "broken" in Medical term.
