Why is this a circuit in a pointless spanish city? Any logical reason?

This circuit stage seems to feature every year. The city council is fond of cycling I'd guess.

Hopefully Sagan contests this as well. Would be nice to see him in the mix in a pure sprint.

:A grand tour should have a bit of everything. I'm all for chucking some nighttime crits into the Tour.

(The Vuelta always makes up its own rules as it goes along. Expect a mountain bike section next year. :D)

I don't get you.
You do realize every single race on the planet is worse than the Scheldeprijs, right?

Can you give me a reason this is any better? ;)

It shares all the same bad points but includes the risk of a GT contender getting crashed out. At least riders can avoid Scheldeprijs if they are attached to their collarbones...*

* yes, I appreciate many will be sent by their teams with much choice but hopefully you get my point.

I can't imagine those riders who are detached from their collarbones will be riding anywhere ;)

At the risk of derailing the thread; Tyler H say hi ;):p

Is there anything on-topic left to discuss in this thread, other than whether Nacer wins by 1 bike length or 2?

If Guardini learns to start sprinting in the first 8 positions everyone including Bouhanni will get murdered. But I'm not betting on it. Bouhanni ftw.

I'm really hoping for a surprise winner today. Guardini looked in shape coming into the Vuelta but he was nowhere close to the front in sprints thus far.

Bouhanni to win.

And more pertinent question, WHERE is Cavendish??? This is the first year since 2007 he has not won a GT stage.

He has only finished one stage though and that was after he crashed
