We aren't guessing with Talansky. According to Martin, Talansky was one if the guys doing dom work to bring Martin back to the lead group today. Ie he definitely was never at the race for GC.

Nairito takes this and shows the new more agressive style of climbing, just like in Burgos
Nairo only chance is if the pace will be monstrous from the bottom.I dont think he can match Froome,ac,murito acceleration on this short climb..imo

Most probably Katusha will do this with the likes of Chernetskiy,Losada,Caruso and Moreno for J-Rod.

VAM's will be through roofs tomoroww. Valverde and Purito will do what they always do at the Vuelta, which is making each other lose, meanwhile, Contador, Quintana and Froome will be doing a staring contest while Aru launches a blistering attack with 1,5km to go to solo to the win

Would love to see an Anglo/Spanish match tomorrow

Froome/Yates v Purito/Valverde/Contador

With Quintana looking mildly perturbed as he loses a few seconds

And then Gesink the uphill puncher sprints by at 700W

Froome will destroy, he is in great shape even going for bonus seconds is not a bad sign it usually means they are focused and strong.

he then procedes to completely miss the last corner, drive into the nearby audience in 50km/h breaking a collarbone and 2 ribs.

No worries though. He will return to the 2015 tour in blistering form and take a well deserved 7th place :p

Not much shelter from the heat tomorrow...

Hardly a bend all the way to the top as well. Cruel climb.

Does the stage end at the ski resort of Sierra Nevada?

wishful thinking: Uran will win!

realistically, Purito/Valverde....the rest will fight for 3rd.

Really good ascent for an early sort out in the GC.
An opportunity to shorten the list of contenders that shouldn't be missed.

Froome usually does well in these first mountain test's, of course it's a big unknown how well he has recovered from the injury. Sprinting for bonuses today was a good sign though.

Froome, Quintana and Purito to come in together with a smallish gap to Aru, Contador, Uran, Kelderman and Dan Martin a few seconds behind.

Aru's form is a total unknown, will be interesting to see whether he's up there at the front or way off the pace. I'm also looking forward to seeing where Warren Barguil and Esteban Chaves end up.
