Contador only rides a GT when he knows he can win it.

Once again confirmed. Piti screwed over quintana lol but can't blame him, quintana cracked a bit there

Spectacular win. Valverde has to be on an equal footing at least in Movistar

He's using up reserves that will need to be repaid with interest in the third week.

Because a guy that was supposed to be domestique just rode up entire climb elading the peleton and still won......

Not remotely epic... but very interesting.

Is their any stages that finish like 2% less steep this Vuelta. Any gradual climbs? Froome is a huge fighter he looked weak the whole time. He blew Quintana out the back on tempo. Contador was great also but isit just me or is this a weak climb for Froome. Look at Valverde he was great Purtio done well i think on longer climbs Froome will be ok.

Remember the Giro.. Quintana will strike in the 3rd week

Yeah he did so with much weaker competition. Now he faces his own teammate, AC in improving shape and Froome. He showed weakness today no matter how you look at it;)

People complaining that this stage was hyped up?

I don't know about other people, the only reason why this was important imo was to see how strong Contador and Froome are.

And well it showed us that.

11 seconds to Nairo. Something like 8 to Murito.

Valderde literally "murdered" everyone with that monumental work- which seemed like he "paced himself" to the finish line...

pity on Nairito and the Angel that couldn't make it...

....and today we confirm that Contador was "bluffing" --- He's READY:)

Contador past the test, although there is still a possibility that this effort will take its toll on his injury and he will be really struggling tomorrow.

Valverde extremely impressive.

Quintana a little short of the best on a shorter climb, but still not a huge problem, he wants stages with longer climbs and more harder stages.

Chaves did extremely well, was unable to respond when they really went for it but that is hardly surprising. Yates seemed to last for a while as well that is a good sign.

Evans just cannot climb any more. This result might be the thing that causes him to retire. I doubt he is going to go on when he has looked good of late but is so bad on this climb. He had absolutely nothing.
