A prologue to finish a GT is the ultimate crap planned by Guillen:D

Anyway there's still a chance for spectacle, Purito can hide at a turn and ambush Valverde. Just a small advance for the Worlds, just like happened in 2013.

froome will get this or valverde. alberto will not take any risk and will celebrate mostly

My heart would break for Degenkolb if Valverde or even Contador managed to win.

Froome top 3. Contador to take it easy without risks finishing outside the top 10. Basher to use this as a proof " Contador has lost it in a flat TT " .

any news about the Belkin time trial bikes? Were they satisfied with the altered Bianchi bikes in the long time trial or will there be more modifications today?

This stage sucks,at least they could come with a proper TT,if they really wanted some drama.Anyway El Bala for the win, cause i don't think Froome will bother.

Unipublic going to great lengths in their effort to kill cycling.

Admirable, really.

Why? I think a short TT as a finishing stage is perfectly fine.

It'd be perfectly fine if there was at least one separate, long, flat ITT. As it is, it's like they're teasing us.

Forum members think otherwise. They selected La Vuelta as the best 2014 GT. What's killing cycling is something else....nothing to do with the parcours.

Well, that's another problem, one can't blame that on a stage that makes the final day of a GT a bit more interesting.

Clearly this short ITT was put in for JRod not to lose too many
secs - just in case he got to the last stage in the Red Jersey.
(Projecting from his 2012 form that is.)
Since AC & CF gatecrashed this year's event
- that thinking's now gone out the window.

...but Contador will still prefer this one over a flat 40km course

I see the wisdom of the organisers has led to them deciding to start the top 30 at 2 minute intervals. Surely when time differences are going to be so small 1 minute intervals are enough. The stage is pointless enough as it is without them making it last longer than they need to.
