Albasini could win stage 3 and 4 as well.

4 yes

3 Not sure. Most likely, but I can see any of Nizzolo, Mezgec, Viviani surviving.

Depends how hard it is on those Category 2 climbs, but the Cat 3 climb won't shed the sprinters.

I think Haas was not without chance there. He started sprinting too early, while his team-mate (Navardauskas?) was still in front of the rest of the bunch. They didn't play it very well.

Urán is here, the same as last year, to get ready for the Giro, but will be interesting to see his ITT, becouse he will do a test.

The clearly favourite is Froome, with Spilak (if is raining) Quintana and Nibali in a second line, but there are a lot of names: Fulgsang, Zakarin, Van der broeck, Bardet, Frank, Peraud,...

But anyway I see quite well Hesjedal too, he will be a favourite for the Giro again.

Betancur is getting better and better, but slowly, I doubt he can be a contender for Giro top ten, maybe for one stage.

Only Roche with Froome in the first group of 50 riders. Ok, Thomas had a mechanical and Kennaugh helped him to get back, but they couldn't close the gap to the peloton that was someething like 15-20s ahead. They look vulnerable. Astana and Katusha have strong teams so hopefully they will try something. We need some bad weather, too

It always surprises me that Albasini does nothing at L-B-L. It's obviously a bit too hard for him but he was 6th at Il Lombardia last year so he should be able to handle it. Obviously he worked for Gerrans last year but this year he must have had a free role, surely?

Congrats for Albasini, a convincing win. Nice attack by Taaramäe, he has always been a really good descender. Interesting to see if he can ride for himself in Romandie or has to be a domestique from now on. He said in an interview during Pais Vasco that his spring peak should come in Romandie, but he was quite good already then. Only a disastrously timed mechanical on a stage to Arrate prevented a likely top 5 GC result, specially considering Arrate was the most suitable finishing climb for him in Pais Vasco.
I hope he can ride for himself here, as in GTs he is definately on pure domestique duties and at best can hunt for some stages.

Rolland is more than a minute back already and he will loose more time on the last TT. I don't see how can he take this time back. There are other riders in way better position to make the podium.

Thomas is probably a couple of kilos heavier than he was at Paris-Nice. He was next in line to work after Kennaugh and before Roche. There are probably too many strong teams here for anything particularly exciting to happen. Same in the classics.

I expect a very good result from Taaramäe on sunday in the TT. Not sure about the MTF the day before, because i think he will work for Fuglsang and Nibali.

Only??

That is normal, they would have been 4, working all the day, SKY is not alone in cycling. They had a good day to attack Froome, but nobody managed to do anyting, so Froome can be happy, maybe his mmost dangerous day is now finished.

Rolland dint lose time today, and he looked strong at the front, but it is true, he is far already in GC.

Looking at GC, a forgot some sames as Rui Costa, Majka or even Gesink

I just finished watching the recorded stage. Albasini kudos, this is his big race of the year and the Swiss love it :).

That accident where the medical car took down Hansen just stinks...Geez don't they look in the mirror before opening the door? Any news on his condition?

All in all the final 20+ km were very interesting and there seem to be many possibilities here! It certainly would be nice to have announcers whose entire world didn't revolve around Sky though :(.

Did you have English commentary? Where were you able to watch it? I know it can get annoying listening to them harp on Sky, but I think I'd take that over Italian commentary which I can't understand. Thanks!

Costa is clearly on form, at least last year's form, wich is a pitty, given the awful team Lampre sent here, and how they blew his chances right on day one. Just as last year's stage two, which was won by Albasini, he finished inside the top 10 of a similar stage, and managed to put in a good performance the rest of the week.

I don't know about Hesjedal, I'm always sceptical when someone is riding both Trentino and Romandie before the Giro. Basso pulled it off in 2010 and to a lesser extend in 2012, but he was always taking it easy durning Romandie and used it as a training ride.

Yes I have English commentary. I'm in the USA and it is being shown on TV live by beIN with Rob Hatch and Magnus B calling. Generally I really like Rob but da*n you'd think Sky was the only team in the race.....
