Armstrong 2004 Tour I think.

Edit: yeah, 3 in a row.

It was really impressive. For a climber to do it and not a sprinter. Especially the one where he pipped Kloeden on the line from way back to get the hat trick (4th stage of the race).

Also Maertens when he won 13 stages, probably a hattrick or two in there somewhere :D

Kittel Pologne '11.
Petacchi did 5 in a row (of 5 stages) and the GC in Oddset-Rundfahrt '06. In 2002 he did a hattrick in both Settimana Coppi e Bartali and Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana.

Cipo did 4 in a row in the '99 Tour.

Yup.

And, what seems like forever ago now, this was four in a row in Cali...

Hat-trick tomorrow?

I think he will do the triple. As for coming off contract at the end of the season, even though he is 35 he will have no trouble finding a team. He is always up there in the hillier classics and can always grab stage wins. I don't think his age has effected him much. Same goes for Gerrans who is now 34 I think.

Binda, 1927 Giro won 12 of 15 stages 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14 and 15, 3 in a row and 6 in a row, or a hatrick of hatricks, I think we have a winner.

Yeah, who can beat him? Nizzolo will probably get dropped again. Mezgec will probably have no support. Ditto Viviani. Yes it's a bit easier than the last two days, but OGE will probably ride fast on the climbs to drop the sprinters.

He'll stay with OGE, but if he does leave I can see him going to MTN

He beat Greipel in the flat stages and won the hilly stage as well as the ITT.

Yes, Binda is the winner. In the 1929 Giro he also won 8 stages in a row.

and just checked, he did 4 in a row in 28 and another hatrick in 33.

Re:

Binda missed the 1930 Giro as the organisers were worried the public would lose interest if there was another procession, and paid him the money he would have won for not entering.

(Ian Stannard has never ridden LBL. Just sayin')

Pretty strong break today.
I hope they make it - unless other teams again choose to chase for Albasini.

the sickest thing ever seen in cycling. wish there were still videos of it

Explain please?
basso was just winning EVERY stage and they were all flat too. he would start riding in front of peloton in flat and drop entire peloton and coming in solo and he did that for several days
