14 teams represented. I don't see Astana chasing. Break could take it.

Interesting that Europcar is chasing despite having a rider in the break. Must be for Rolland but they're pretty weak and not sure they'll be able to do it.

It will be for Rolland. He'll bridge to the break on the climb. 1 minute will probably be enough for him to make it.

I sure hope so ($100 @ 18-1). Not huge climbing talent in the break so if he bridges then clearly the favourite.

I'm on Rolland ($21), Zoidl ($201), Izagirre ($301) so any will do :p

Let's go Rolland though.

Teklehaimanot in for KoM points again I see. Riding well here. I did suspect that Meintjes might go with him as well for the possible stage win and to stop others taking points towards the end of the stage.

Nice to Edet in the break. One day he's going to take a an epic break win I know it.

2.7km @ 11.2%, is a Cat 1 climb
Standard uncategorized climb in the Giro :)

I want Bardet, Kelderman, Valls, Benoot and a dozen more riders in the early break. Maybe even TJVG.

precisely my thoughts.

Rolland, Mollema and Frank were the counter attackers and they have been caught.

At this pace it looks the peloton could be down to 10-15 riders at the half way mark.

Castroviejo, De La Cruz, Poljanski, Rolland, Navarrao, Luis Mate, Huzarski and Mendes are trying to bridge.

Astana shouldn't really be chasing. No danger men. If I were Nibali, I'd let one from the break win and take the bonus seconds if that was possible.

Poljanski (Tinkoff), Rolland (Europcar), Navarro (Cofidis) and Meintjes (MTN) have caught the front group as well as a few others. 20 up the road. They have over 4 minutes on the peloton.

British Eurosport must have had a change of heart. It's come up on my EPG as live from 14:30, wasn't listed when I checked earlier.

Danish TV2 going live at 15.25? Isn't is finished by then?

Looks like De La Cruz hasn't made that front group, which is handy as he's only 3:13 down on GC. I think Navarro at 5:44 is the highest placed on GC in that break. Hopefully then the break has a half decent chance of making it today.

Expected finish is between 16:30-17:00 CET apparently

According to steephill, there won't be live pictures before 15:30 CET anyway, so one would expect some racing still to be done by then :)

Confusing messages from official ticker. Seems like De La Cruz is still in that front group after all.

De La Cruz has been reported to be in the front group via the official ticker. The fact the gap is 3'45 must indicate he's in there. If he wasn't the gap would be over 4, pushing 5.
