I agree that the whole thing is a big joke (sorry Susan) but I do like races with national teams, just because they are so rare on the professional level, and make for a nice change every now and then. So in theory having one more race like that every so often (are European Games also going to be every four years?) could be a nice thing in the future, if there is a good parcours and a good crowd.

Also, the rather low prestige and the time of this race makes for an interesting peloton, where the big names are missing.

The break arent working well when i started watching.
Who's in it?
Dunne of Ireland and Pellaud of Switzerland have joined Smukilis, Saramotins, De Clerq, Boaro, Herrada, Vasylyuk and Vorobyev. Yhe tenth i dont know.

A French rider is also in there, I think I heard them say it is Alexis Gougeard

Belgium chasing, gap is at 3.15.

Edit: appears to be about 55km left.

Edit part 2: Buts of Ukraine has a good gap over the breakaway. Italy rode hard over a climb, reducing the peloton to about 30-40 riders, then stalled, allowing some attacks from the main group. Netherlands, Belgium, France and Italy try to cancel out the attacks.

Buts has a minute leader over the breakaway, and 2 and a half mins over the peloton. Names still in the peloton: Benoot, LL Sanchez, Nizzolo, Terpstra, Wippert, Hutarovich, Keukeleire, Viviani, Pozzato, Boonen, Alaphilippe, Kiryenka.

Edit: and about 40km left.
