Vanmarcke can sprint pretty well at the end of a tough race as well. I think he could beat Roelandts, who will have worked too much if he is caught by the finish.

What? of course Roelandts is not going to win if they somehow catch him. It's either solo or no win.

Oh right, I thought you meant that he might recuperate and challenge in a sprint when he is caught. I doubt very much that he will stay away until the finish.

Well, he made what looks like the decisive move in the race when his team leader (with Cav out of contention), fastest finisher and most on-form rider had a puncture and was off the back. Pretty idiotic from the team's point of view.

Yeah, would be so great if everyone would always follow team tactics 100% and make all races extremely boring. It's not like this is the greatest race I've seen this year. Oh, wait. It totally is.

It's not the task of a team to make a race interesting, but to win it.

A GPS timer will be skewed when a rider turns into/out of the wind. But for sure, there is more impetus from the group 2

No he isn't. Far from it. He may be one of the strongest, but he is way too dumb to be truly good.

Vandenbergh could barely beat Chris Anker Sørensen in a sprint. The chance that he will win on his own in such a group is pretty much zero. With Terpstra there it's decent, but Vandenberghs attack was idiotic nonetheless.

So what? Cashing in his financially sub-par years in Cannondale. And don't forget he just ran out of power two days ago, one should better rest him rather than expect to pull out some Mercx-style dominator trick today, especially with such a "magnificient" team support.
