The point is to be safe there, not to go crazy. Astana might have forced him in the descent.

It didn't make sense for him to go 3/4 *** on the climb either. I hope this somehow pays off and he eases off at the remaining stages.

No, he suffered from the start of the climb, the next 2 days will be hell for him.

If he really has had a hunger knock, it's impressive anyway he hasn't paid a real big check for it so far! Yet, he even tried to defeat Contador 2 days ago. Absolutely crazy!

He looks spent though. But he will fight on. A bonked Aru might still be on level with a good Amador / Trofimov.

Kruijswijk is stronger, but far away!
