Today's TT will cost Aru much more than the almost 3 mins he conceded. Today I'm sure he spent more energy than Contador, and on a hard Giro as this one he'll pay for that... tomorrow. I'm pretty sure in Madonna di Campiglio El Pistolero will put another huge chunk of time between himself and the Sardinian. Game, set, match. Hopefully I'm totally wrong

Thanks, I was just thinking about that during the race. Especially considering how the weather changed. Alberto would probably have beaten Kiryienka if the weather had been more stable.

It should come later on though. The great thing of a TT is that it's always hard to predict how well someone's going to do, despite form. This means even those ahead in GC can't rest on their laurels. Right now Contador only has to control because all stages are quite similar from one to the next.

I do like long TTs, especially since they're boring to watch. Rather have one long one than two shorter ones taking up two race days.

Me too, a long ITT extract the strongest rider in the best possible way. Of course it adds balance to a well designed parcours as well.
