Rather hard racing when the real action won't begin for at least another hour.

I'm going for Schleck tomorrow, is looking good and was off the front today. I'd also say he's a good tip for the Vuelta, surprised that he's 350/1.

He has saddle sore

Matty B abandons. Did he crash?

Airgas leading the chase for some time now. Horner fancies his chances today. At WT level I'd say today would have no GC impact, but here the peloton may just as well be destroyed on that hill and not come back together.

Just tuned it. Looks like a fine stage. Is the last two climbs tough enough to create meaningful gaps?

So do I but I keep on riding.. :D

I think 350/1 odds in the Vuelta is kind of generous. There's no reason to think he's even going to finish the race let alone be a contender.

Depends how they race them. The huge American roads somehow make any climb look more like a false flat and any attack look pointless so at this point a group of contenders could come in together.

Yeah not a nice crash.

The uninterrupted steep part is 1.7km's long, but the climb is marked as 1.7 miles which is around 2.7km's - they must be counting a short kick which is not color marked on the profile above.

I agree with TMP, gaps are not a given, and the summit is still @7km's away from the finish line. Horner could make a difference on a climb such as this but not sure he wouldn't be caught son after. Smartstop must fancy their chances with two guys that go very well past hills, Travis McCabe and Jure Kocjan, being great sprinters too. Heck, even Rob Britton.

Curious to see what Ruben Guerreiro will do, too. This is the parcours one would expect him to perform well at.

That said, probably nothing of this will happen. Way too unpredictable still. Maybe when they tackle it the second time.

Yeah not a nice crash.

Thanks, glad I missed it.

Yep, that's a killer. Drag first, wall then.

Dion Smith on the attack. Rosskopf follows.

I'm confused lol

Who is at the front? Who is at the back? Where is the peloton?

Rosskopf for BMC broke free of the break and is now alone. Lots of attacks in the peloton and it seems like Phil Gaimon and an Hincapie is chasing. Peloton 30 seconds behind.

Edit: peloton and chasers back together.

Who's #95 with Smartstop? He's about the worst bike handler i've seen this season...

Edit: Chris Butler..

95, that'd be Chris Butler. Surprised myself, he did a 'nice' descent in last year's USAPC stage to Breckenridge.

I don't want to stereotype but I never saw a European fan as fat as that dude in the blue.
