Degenkolb! Kristoff just went from too far. Paolini was just immense but needed to hold on for just 50 more meters.

Kristoff wasn't set up right. He was stuck on the front with his leadout man. He needed another wheel for towing to win.

What a great perfomance from Bonifazio! 21 years old and already 5th!

Cancellara just a *** race. Didn't do anything on the Poggio. Valverde also the old Valverde in the big races.

Fabian boxed in. Had the fastest top speed. Dammit. Did Sagan atleast podium?

Fastest top speed? He was way slower than Sagan and Bouhanni.

Excellent Bonifazio. Great talent.
Degenkolb very smart, great skills there at the end.

But honestly such a poor MSR. Almost no race on the Poggio at all. Disappointing.

Rewatch the finish then. You'd notice how fast he was then

He was drafting people all the way to finish, that's why he looks fast.

Edit: I'm pretty sure that RCS will do everything to put Pompeiana in the race after this result.

Well done by Degenkolb! He was longer in the wind than Kristoff. Paolini is really the best teammate for san remo.

Cancellara's series has now ended.

Must emphasize Sky's initiative from some distance out. BMC tried a few things also, but everybody else waited for the bunch sprint.

Congrats to Degenkolb with his first major win.

congrats to Degenkolb -well timed sprint.
poor Sagan...... he just can't get it right

BTW- I do believe M-SR route must be made more selective with some bumps early on the race, because lately we're witnessing the whole peloton is making it at the foot of the poggio, almos intact.

sagan could have gone at the foot of the poggio descent. scared of taking risks now, better wait for that 4th place lol
it wasn't a bad race and the route has to stay like that, they could ride faster on the climbs though

I just rewatched it. Sagan started his sprint just in front of Cancellara and finished further in front of him. Bouhanni as well.

It was a good race until the Poggio. Plenty of action on the Cipressa and the bit between the Cipressa and the Poggio.

But almost no action on the Poggio killed it.
